About Me
As a grad student, I’m constantly probing art history studying artists that predate the 19th century. Although these incredible artists have informed our entire visual culture and will always inform my work, frankly, I want to look at something else! I’ve deserted the artists that inspired me to pursue a career in this crazy, unpredictable art world. Suddenly I feel the need to revisit them.
So, I’ve decided to start this blog as refreshment from my usual visual routine. I'll post images and information I enjoy about contemporary artists- some I’ve loved for years and others I’ve just fallen for.
I have also come to the conclusion that the contemporary art world is very, very foreign to my family and many of my friends, so this blog is also an attempt to expose them to some of the artists that I admire... and maybe to give them a better idea of exactly what I've gotten myself into!
